WORLD PREMIERE!
Hometown Sounds is honored today to complete the trifecta of music video premieres by multi-instrumentalist Dennis Kane through our friends at Verses Records. In September we helped unveil a new video by Red Spells Red, a collab between Kane and Colorado’s Acef Stripe. October saw a haunting spectacle from Kane’s solo moniker The Hunted Hare. Today we’re presenting “Instilled Regard”, featuring Kane and cellist/viola da gamba player Amy Domingues, also of the post-classical group Garland of Hours.
We last heard from Domingues and Kane on their debut full length album Gut + Voltage: Viola da Gamba & Electronics in Synthesis back in 2016. Their new 5 song release Rough Magick came out digitally today, and “Instilled Regard” is a welcome introduction to their distinct instrumental sound. The music video presents quaint Renaissance-inspired footage mixed with abstract imagery and patterns, reflecting the styles each bring to the eminent collaboration. As with all of Dennis Kane’s various projects, this is music deserving of thoughtful listening, accompanying peaceful seasonal contemplation.
