Outputmessage released a free track on SoundCloud as a thank you for an awesome 2011. Download Syracuse (Evan Scott’s Piano Dub) while you can!
It’s another Friday night of tough decisions for local music shows. The Black Cat has Bro Ho Ho: A Holiday Music Spectacular with solo shows from former local (snif) Jesse Elliott of These United States, Josh Read of Revival, John Bustine and Brandon Butler.
If you prefer grooving to strumming, head to the Rock and Roll Hotel for a fantastic show with The Funk Ark, Nappy Riddem and House of Soul.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Why can’t there be two of me?
DC Video of the Day! More holiday cheer from Lightfoot. You can download the song for free at Lightfoot’s Bandcamp page.
DC music video of the day! Vandaveer‘s holiday EPs are my favorite Christmas music to put on this time of year, and both are available to download for free here! This year they sat down with The 78 Project to record a scratchy old-sounding version of Silver Bells. Fantastic.
DC Music Video of the Day! Brand new video from the newest single by Thievery Corporation and Mr. Lif, inspired by the Occupy protests. Buy it on iTunes.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I caught the Pietasters at 9:30 and had a blast. I’m still singing this song in my head, so today’s DC music video of the day is Out All Night!
U.S. Royalty has a free show tonight at The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage that everyone should check out. In honor of that, our music video of the day is Equestrian!
In addition to the U.S. Royalty show there’s a lot of great local music shows to check out tonight. The Pietasters are joined by new DC ska band The Thrilltones. Benoit and Sergio are spinning at U Street Music Hall. And the mysterious Subterranean A hosts an amazing lineup: Beautiful Swimmers, Protect-U and Volta Bureau. I can’t decide!
DC Music video of the day!
