Screen Vinyl Image – Fever video

Things are pretty quiet on the DC music video front, so here’s a classic video by psychedelic dance-rock band Screen Vinyl Image that might be new to you. Fever comes from their 2009 album Interceptors.

Screen Vinyl Image – Rx video

Tonight at the Black Cat Backstage, Hometown Sounds faves Screen Vinyl Image kick off a great lineup that includes Frederick MD’s Silent Old Mtns. and headliners The Vacant Lots from Vermont. Here’s an appropriately trippy music video for Rx, from their most recent album Strange Behavior.

Screen Vinyl Image – Cathode Ray video

I imagine most fans of DC music have been to Arlington’s Galaxy Hut by now. The hip and small bar long ago skipped on hard liquor to focus on an amazing beer selection, presaging DC’s intense love affair with brews micro and local. But did you know that Galaxy Hut opened a sister bar on Route 7 in Falls Church called Spacebar? Recently the new bar has begun to host shows on Sunday evenings, charging only a $5 cover just like the original Hut. This Sunday the amazing noisy electronic duo Screen Vinyl Image brings their high intensity live show to Spacebar, and there is clearly no better reason to journey out to Falls Church. Here’s the video for Cathode Ray, from their 2009 album Interceptors.

The Lost Rivers – All Dead (Screen Vinyl Image Remix) video

We’ve told you before on Hometown Sounds about the awesomeness of Screen Vinyl Image. In DC we’re lucky that the duo has performed very frequently around town the last few months. This Friday night you have another chance to catch them live at Sova on H Street NE with locals Fell Types and Dallas’s Nervous Curtains. Earlier this month the band released a video for their remix of All Dead by label mates The Lost Rivers. Great stuff!

Screen Vinyl Image – Night Trip video

Husband and wife duo Jake and Kim Reid left the respected shoegaze group Alcian Blue back in 2006 to do their own thing as Screen Vinyl Image. The experimental effects still cut through this duo’s music, but their live shows bring an electronic dance element that takes them to a higher level. If you haven’t caught them live yet, Screen Vinyl Image headlines a show tonight at the Black Cat with Chicago shoegazers Airiel and local indie rockers Dot Dash. Here’s their latest video for the song Night Trip, from their 2011 album Strange Behavior.

Lucky for you, the duo is headlining a show at the Velvet Lounge tonight. And luckier still, our friends at D.C. Music Download are sponsoring a 20s & 30s Local Music Meetup Group event at this very show! So go hear great music and make new friends at the same time. Here’s their video for Night Trip, from their 2011 album Strange Behavior.
