GoRemy – Metro Song (Live on The Circus Life)

TICKET GIVEAWAY BELOW!

We heart Justin Trawick’s The Circus Life podcast and all this week we’re featuring videos of the live performances from the show. If you lived anywhere close to DC back in 2009, you surely remember The Arlington Rap, Remy Munasifi‘s breakout hit skewering the bit of the diamond over the river. Remy continues to pump out satirical rhymes on his YouTube channel, including this acoustic ditty about the joys of riding the Metro.

The Circus Life takes their show to the stage of the Rock & Roll Hotel this Saturday night with a stacked lineup including The Cowards Choir, Black Masala, M.H. & His Orchestra, The Sweater Set and Justin Trawick’s own group. Hometown Sounds has a hot pair of tickets to this show to give away, so tell us your favorite band in the comments below and you’re entered to win!

The Joads – Good Deal Gone Bad video

Hey, remember that podcast we put out a few days ago? Remember that awesome song by The Joads, “Good Deal Gone Bad”, and how we mentioned there’s a music video for it? GUESS WHAT! Here is that music video. It’s a surprisingly dark tale of addiction, guns, money and public transportation mishaps, lightened by its uptempo singalong soundtrack. The Joads’ “ramshackle surf blues” hits the stage tonight at Takoma Park DIY hotspot Electric Maid in a crazy variety show including young, not-at-all-racist punk band Dagos and The Georgetown University Improv Association. There’s absolutely no better way to get this weekend started off right!
