Our friends at the Luce Foundation Center for American Art host another Luce Unplugged Community Showcase tonight. The fall focus on DC’s jazz scene continues with Washington City Paper‘s curated acts, neo-soul singer “Ms. DivaBlue” Alison Crockett and multi-instrumentalist Samuel Prather. The free music starts promptly at 6 PM.
Bonus pick! Stay up late tonight with long-running post-punk DJ night We Fought The Big One at the Marx Cafe in Mt. Pleasant with live music from electro-funk duo DMV KARS and DC tunes spun by Hometown Sounds founder Paul Vodra.

With the literal breath of fresh air, Porch Fest season is just in time for the long awaited arrival of autumn. The sprawling Adams Morgan Porch Fest sets up Saturday afternoon with sets from Near Northeast, Keith Butler Jr., Strangers That Clique, The Foggy Bottom Whomp Stompers, Peter Maybarduk and on and on and on.
