Garage and surf rock take the stage Tuesday night at Slash Run when DC faves Venray and Apollo 66 open for TN’s Mouth Reader.

Some people love the lyrics most, and some love the music most and often can’t even make out the words. If you’re the latter, or you’re game to give the words a rest for a night, head to Evening Star Cafe‘s upstairs Majestic Lounge in Del Ray this Wednesday for ambient guitarist Tristan Welch and post-rock duo Ice Out.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum continues their prestigious and long running Luce Unplugged series highlighting the brightest in the DC music scene this Thursday with a special duo performance from Jess Eliot Myhre and Chris Ousley of the Bumper Jacksons.
