Tuesday 3/12:
Georgetown’s Blues Alley hosts a quartet of DC’s leading jazz figures on Tuesday night. Drummer Sriram Gopal‘s 2016 album The Fourth Stream provides the source material, and trombonist Shannon Gunn of the Bullettes, guitarist Garrett Gleason, and bassist Benjamin Rikhoff fill out this powerhouse group. Wednesday 3/13:
On Wednesday at 6 PM the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage partners with Strathmore’s prestigious Artist-in-Residence program to present soul singer Cecily. Celebrating Women’s History Month, Cecily will focus on the contributions of Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Minnie Riperton, Gladys Knight, and others with Love & Freedom: A Tribute to Women of Soul.
