Tuesday 11/13:
Priests frontwoman Katie Alice Greer approaches all her musical projects with intensity and ambition, whether shouting punk lyrics or crafting experimental tape releases. Tuesday night see her latest obsession, covering Dixie Chicks songs, at Comet along with Baltimore’s Hothead and State Champion from Louisville.
Wednesday 11/14:
Alice’s Jazz & Cultural Society is the latest jazz spot in DC with a laserlike focus on music quality. Wednesday night they host Howard-grad, straight ahead jazz singer Sendy Brown.
Thursday 11/15:
In addition to their free, after work Luce Unplugged performance series, the Smithsonian American Art Museum & Portrait Gallery also hosts jazz on Thursdays in the gorgeous central Kogod Courtyard. This Thursday bassist & vocalist Nicole Saphos performs with her trio and guest vocalists Sara Curtin and Maureen Andary of The Sweater Set.
