Don’t Stay Home This Weekend 11/09

Happy Friday, DC. You made it. Feel like going out this weekend? As always, we’ve got live DC music to recommend every single day. Go for it.

Friday 11/09:
Devoted fans of our fortnightly podcast already know about new reggae band Shamans Of Sound. Tonight they celebrate the release of their second single “Love Lessons” with a FREE early show at Tropicalia. Doors open at 8, the music wraps up by 11, and then you’re right at 14th & U ready to party into the wee hours and make bad decisions.

Saturday 11/10:
Now that we’re firmly in jackets and cozy boots weather, how does a romantic Saturday night at a secret speakeasy featuring soulful vocal jazz sound? Pretty awesome, right? Good thing you’re reading this, because Akua Allrich is the featured act at this Saturday at the Alex Speakeasy inside the Graham in Georgetown. Make your reservations now on OpenTable before this sells out.

Sunday 11/11:
Mmmmm, a top notch 3 band lineup of some of our absolute fave bands Sunday night at Dangerous Pies. Bassist Kevin de Souza’s folk-rock quintet Uptown Boys Choir celebrates their sophomore release Get Help along with Bad Robot Jones and Olivia Mancini & The Mates. What a delightful way to wrap up a weekend.
