Party Like It’s – Take Care

Primarily known for high-energy covers, 90s pop-ska band Party Like It’s debuted their second original single yesterday. “Take Care” is a throwback delight, with big horns and crisp offbeats lending the pop song retro style. The music video’s black and white palette, with restrained splashes of color, is a stark contrast to their neon-hued debut “Clockwork Lover” and lends the song more bite than the earlier sugary confection. Party Like It’s is an utter blast live, so head to Union Stage Friday night to see them channel patron saints No Doubt at the Back to the 90s Party with Maryjo Mattea as Alanis Morissette and The Good Time Boys as RHCP.

Party Like It’s – As Long As You Love Me

YouTube and Ryan Seacrest (that guy is literally everywhere) have teamed up for a new musical competition show called Best.Cover.Ever., and submissions are now open. One of DC’s fave cover bands Party Like It’s got right on that challenge and filmed this joyous singalong cover of “As Long As You Love Me”, the signature song from 90s boy band Backstreet Boys. The ska band’s horn section really delivers and takes this party anthem to the next level. Ska ain’t dead by a long shot, and you can catch Party Like It’s this Memorial Day weekend at the 2017 SuperNova International Ska Festival in Fredricksburg VA along with Eastern Standard Time, The Pietasters, The Scotch Bonnets and so many more.

Party Like It’s – Clockwork Lover

Making the leap from cover band to performing original music, Party Like It’s brings their love of the blasting horns and singalong choruses of late 90s pop-ska bands like Reel Big Fish and No Doubt to the modern day. Their YouTube channel includes undeniably fun covers of “Shake It Off”, “All About That Bass” and “The Boys of Summer”, and now their debut original single “Clockwork Lover” gets the full music video treatment courtesy of DC Brau and The Coupe. We dug this song so much that we kicked off yesterday’s podcast with it, but the music video is even more fun. Vienna’s Jammin’ Java hosts a Back to the 90s party this Saturday night featuring Party Like It’s and other bands paying tribute to Sublime, Blink-182, Smashing Pumpkins and No Doubt.
