Ciscero – Good To Know

It’s almost time to wrap up our 2019 coverage of DMV music videos, but we’ve got one more to squeeze in before our annual rundown of the best videos of the year next week. Maryland rapper Ciscero first hit the scene guesting on GoldLink’s 2016 single “Fall In Love”, and has released only a couple of singles in the meantime, teasing out an EP called Devil’s Pie that will hopefully see the light of streaming services in 2020. “Good To Know” is a deliciously slinky slow jam produced by Chris McClenney featuring Masego, Ambriia and KP. We’ll forgive you for needing to hear the song a second time when watching this video directed by Adam Hahn, because the cast of characters dancing and skating at the roller rink in Temple Hills is that captivating.

GoldLink – Fall In Love

GoldLink‘s vocals are always buttery smooth and cleanly precise, but he never skimps on the top level musical production to accompany them. His recent single “Fall In Love”, released last August, brings in Canadian producers KAYTRANADA and BadBadNotGood, creating a classic slinky deep house cut primed & ready for DJ sets by Mark Farina and Miguel Migs. The music video goes right back to the 70s with rounded corners, warm colors, curly fonts and funky vibes, featuring ‘Link and DMV rapper Ciscero taking turns on verses and partying. If you don’t fall in love with this song’s rolling bassline, you might need to get your soul checked out.
