The Dance Party – Sasha Don’t Sleep video

DC music video of the day! Another band that’s sadly moved on from this small town, The Dance Party played some great shows here and put out two EPs and one album. They sounded completely unlike any other DC band I know of, and perhaps L.A. is more suited to their style than we are. Here’s the video for Sasha Don’t Sleep, from their 2009 EP Tigers.

Deep Dish – The Future of the Future video

DC music video of the day! Deep Dish has been on hiatus for a few years now, but at the height of progressive house madness in the mid-2000s they were quite a big deal. Personally, I prefer their deep house roots in the late 90s, including the classic 1998 album Junk Science. Here’s the video for that album’s hit The Future of the Future, featuring Everything But The Girl.

DC music video of the day! Liftoff just released their debut album Sunday Morning Airplay two days ago, but the group, in one form or another, has been around for a long time. Sharing most of a line-up with Thunderball, their music appeared on the very early ESL compilation disc Dubbed Out In DC way back in 1997. Now producing for Fort Knox Recordings, the group headlines a show at the Black Cat backstage tonight with DJ sets from Thunderball and Fort Knox Five. To get you warmed up for that, here’s their debut video Summer’s Shown.

Thievery Corporation – Lebanese Blonde video

DC music video of the day! Thievery Corporation have provided the soundtrack for DC’s lounging for 17 years throughout 7 studio albums and countless shows. Their appeal is worldwide but they stay rooted in their hometown through many swank nightlife destinations like the Eighteenth Street Lounge, American Ice Company, and the reggae-themed Patty Boom Boom. Today we feature the video for Lebanese Blonde featuring the late Pam Bricker, from their 2000 album The Mirror Conspiracy.
