Jason Steinhauer – Shutdown Blues video

DC, Hometown Sounds is back on the scene! I had a wonderful 2 weeks off in sunny California, not giving one passing thought to these ugly shenanigans in Washington’s halls of power. But now I’ve returned to the day job of a government contractor and everything is on hold. Like nearly everyone else in this town, I’ve got the Shutdown Blues. In case you missed it making the rounds when the shutdown began, government employee and The Grey Area frontman Jason Steinahauer penned a take on Bob Dylan’s 1965 song Tombstone Blues in response to the ongoing crisis. Here’s hoping things get back to normal real soon.

The Grey Area – Sugar, From You video

Just yesterday The Grey Area released the video for Sugar, From You, the second video from their debut EP 508. The video for this blues-y rocking track tells a tale of love and violence. MTV has apparently picked up an edited version of the video for airplay, but Hometown Sounds gives you all the unedited glory you need.

The Grey Area – Ourselves video

DC music video of the day! The Grey Area are bringing sunny pop music to DC just in time for summer. The bald duo recently released their debut EP 508, and were selected by Listen Local First as a featured band for tomorrow’s Local Music Day. Their next live date is Saturday May 26th at DC9. Check out the first video from the EP for the track Ourselves.
