Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds – Haunted Head video

Kid Congo Powers, legendary musician with The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, has a brand new music video timed for the spookiest day of the year. Haunted Head, the title track from Congo’s most recent full length album, delivers his classic garage style of fuzzed out guitars and droll vocal delivery. Be on the lookout for cameos of local burlesque stars, including Tilted Torch’s Short Staxx and Lucrezia Blozia of Hope Operas. Happy Halloween!

Powers is well known as both as musician and DJ around town, spinning a truly unique garage-soul sound. He’ll be leading the Kid Congo Power’s Hour at Sunday’s Sound Bites, an outdoor street festival of music and food at the 9:30 Club with a lineup that includes Deathfix, DJ Will Eastman, Batala and Rich Morel’s Hot Sauce, all to benefit DC Central Kitchen.
Here’s an appropriately trippy music video for Rare as the Yeti, from Kid Congo’s 2009 album Dracula Boots.

Kid Congo Powers – Conjure Man video

Brand new video debut! Garage rocker Kid Congo Powers just released a music video for his latest 7″ single Conjure Man. The trance-like and trippy video makes heavy use of William S. Burroughs’s Dreammachine, specifically dreammachines owned by Throbbing Gristle’s Genesis P. Orridge and London arts curator James Elphick.
