Pop-punk superheroes American Television, organizers of the Breakin’ Even Fest, take over the Pie Shop Saturday night to release their glorious new record Watch It Burn on Wiretap Records along with sets from Philly’s Crossed Keys, DC’s Teen Cobra, and Foxhall Stacks featuring members of Velocity Girl, Government Issue, Jawbox and Minor Threat (!!).
Sunday 1/26:
Two of DC’s strongest groups pushing the boundaries of jazz are cellist Janel Leppin‘s Ensemble Volcanic Ash and the Low Ways Quartet featuring a mind-blowing lineup of Mark Cisneros (The Make-Up, Des Demonas), Anthony Pirog (The Messthetics), Luke Stewart (Blacks’ Myths) and drummer Ian McColm. See them both Sunday night at Takoma Park’s Rhizome, where else?
